An modern architectural statement by Francois Perrin; The Guest House
When I first saw this project by Francois Perrin I was amazed with the creative elements of the project that engage a great deal of basic materials to manufacture something eco friendly and functional like the Guest House .The house is built in Brentwood, California for an anthropologist with main purpose to store collections of art gathered for 20 years. When you observe the clear plastic skin of the house, you realize that it creates an optical illusion of the mass, resulting to a minimal visual impact to the existing house and the neighborhood in general. The .empty pockets of air that are created by the plastic and the wood structure are used as insulation from cold and heat. The house is designed to cross ventilate capturing the ocean breeze to cool while extreme Summer heat. A great project ; applauds to the creative approach.
